Using 360 to communicate with friends and family has many advantages, but it's important that you know how to use it safely. If you publish personal information and share it with others, you might be putting yourself at risk.
Here are some things you should look out for:
Unfortunately, new technologies have given bullies a new outlet – for example, someone might make nasty comments about you on your profile or send you a rude text. Vodafone takes this very seriously – we are a member of the Government's Cyberbullying Taskforce in the UK – and we will take action to help protect you.
If you don't protect your personal information while you are on the internet, there is a chance that criminals might access it and steal your identity. So it's important that you only connect to people you trust.
Of particular concern for young people is the potential for strangers to make contact with them via email, text or via a social network with the intention of persuading them into sexual activity. This is often referred to as online grooming and is a sexual offence. Vodafone works closely with law enforcement authorities around the world, such as the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre in the UK to reduce the risks of online grooming. We'll take action when you report anything to us.
Finally, it's worth remembering that when you use 360, you are part of a large community. Please behave responsibly – just as you would in the real world – and respect others.
Just like any other real or virtual community, 360 has some rules to help everyone get along together. To read our Community Guidelines, click here.
