Privacy Notice

Please read this page to understand our Privacy Notice
  1. When you use 360, you’ll see some obvious places where we collect and use information about you. Here in this Privacy Notice, we describe the less obvious ways we may learn more about you from your information and activity on 360, and how we may use what we learn.

This Privacy Notice applies whenever you use the 360 products and services, on the website at www.360.com or on your phone, whether or not you’ve registered.

  2. 1. What is 360?

Vodafone 360 is a range of mobile services we’ve designed to make life a little easier. It consists of five services:

    • 360 People
    • 360 Shop
    • 360 Music
    • 360 My Web
    • 360 Email

These services are portable and available on your phone (depending on your handset) as well as your computer.

The core feature of 360 is the online address book, called 360 People. This service automatically backs up and synchronises your phone’s address book online. To do this, we need to store your data (like your contacts’ details) on our secure servers online. To find out what information we have, why we need it and what we use it for, read on.

To find out more about 360, check out the About page.

  3. 2. Who is responsible for 360?

Vodafone Sales and Services Limited (VSSL), based in the UK, is responsible for 360. As 360 is a mobile service, it’s designed to work with products and services created and managed by local phone operators that are part of Vodafone’s global network.

To provide these products and services, we need to send some of your information to these local operators and receive some information from them. For example, if you register on 360, sharing your registration information means they can communicate with you, manage your needs and, if you’ve agreed to it, send you marketing promotions and offers. If you buy music, apps, games or other multimedia content from 360 Music or 360 Shop, we add the cost to your phone bill, which is issued by your local operator, so we share billing information. For easy registration and a connection to 360 My Web, we may share your account information.

  4. 3. What information do we have?

In addition to the information you give us or that we need to deliver 360 to you, we also store some other, less visible information.

    Connection information

Information we automatically receive as a result of online technical standards. This may include your country and language settings, phone model, number and operator, IP address, computer operating system and browser type.

    Usage information

Information about how and when you use our products and services, including the parts you don’t have to register for (so that means everything including 360 People). This includes which 360 services and features you use and the content (apps, music, games, widgets, ringtones etc) you browse, buy and download.

Information held by your local phone operator

Information your local phone operator may have (if they’re part of the Vodafone global network) that we use to provide and customise the 360 services, such as information related to billing, age verification and purchase history.

  5. 4. How do we use your information?

We use your information to make 360 work, from authenticating who you are to providing efficient customer service. We also use it for reasons that aren’t as immediately obvious. These reasons might include:

    Personalisation

We use some of the information you’ve given us to tailor content to your interests. This includes:

    • Personalised content and recommendations

    • We use your information to personalise your 360 experience – such as remembering your name and preferences. We may also use it to point out stuff we think you’ll like on 360, such as the ‘Suggested’ search tool in 360 Shop, which picks out games, apps and other multimedia content relevant to you, providing a more customised and enjoyable experience.
    • Personalised advertising

    • Lots of the 360 services are free, so to offset our costs we may use some information to tailor adverts to your interests. The kind of information we use here can include age, gender, purchase history in 360 Shop, or other information your local phone operator has your permission to share with us.

Rest assured, though: we won’t release your personal information to other companies just because you’ve seen or clicked on their content.

    Marketing and communications

With your permission, we may send you emails or text messages to let you know about new products, services, discounts, offers, tariffs and phone bundles we think you’ll be interested in. If you decide you don’t want to get these messages, you can always follow the unsubscribe directions in the message.

As always, we won’t release information about you to other companies for their own marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

    Website and mobile analytics

We may gather non-personal information from all our customers to understand how they use the internet and how to improve our products and services. For example, we may monitor how many of all our customers visit a site or use a service. This information does not identify you individually.

    Cookies

Some of the information we use in these ways might come from our own and our service provider’s cookies, which help us understand what you like and use or don’t like and don’t use, and to help us develop and deliver better products and services. You have choices about cookies: Consult your browser settings or click here for more information about the cookies of our service provider.
